Shelley was gifted a photoshoot experience from her friend and after speaking with her over the phone about planning her photoshoot, I was super excited to meet the gang!

On arrival I’d parked up at the gate to Shelley’s private yard and was just about to call her, when to my left just coming over the Bridge was Shelley on a quad with her gorgeous dog Max in tow.  Shelley’s friend and her daughter had also come to meet us at the yard to help on the shoot. All the boys had been thoroughly washed and groomed in preparation for their shoot.

Shelley’s form of therapy is being down the yard with her boys.  She says that the boys are her ‘animal family’, it’s clear to see how much she cares for these guys and how much they love to be with her.

If you ever get the time to spend with Horses, you will know that it is therapy for the mind.  There is something so magical about hanging out with a strong and majestic animal, experiencing their kind eyes and gentle personality.  Nothing else in the World matters, and you can leave all your problems at the gate knowing that these beautiful animals can heal everything.

If you have gained the trust of a Horse, you have gained a friend for Life.

Max is a loveable labradoodle, an old boy but still full of life.  He loved all the attention and even tried photobombing when I was taking photos of the Horses.  I love the images we captured of his playful personality, he seemed to know exactly how to pose and was so much fun to work with.

Beau, the piebald-coloured beauty with the gorgeously long mane and the blue eyes is a gentle giant.  He was such a gentleman, so calm and purposeful on the ground.  Shelley has had Beau for years; they have a beautiful friendship and love showing together.  Max and Beau have a unique bond too, having been so used to hanging out together over the years.

Hank is the handsome young bay, he was a wild Horse rescued by Shelley from Wales from a very sad situation, he was living amongst wreckage and waste that had been dumped where he used to roam.  Shelley has clearly worked very hard with Hank at Liberty training, watching the conversation they were having as they both danced about the field was fascinating and a pleasure to photograph.

I had such an amazing time meeting Shelley and her Boys, spending the time getting to know each of them and capturing their amazing personalities.

I shall treasure the pics and the time we had shooting them. There were so many lovely ones I genuinely could not choose. The print outs I chose are for my ‘animal wall’ in the house but I can see so many more going up. So excited to get the pics!
