James & Ozzie

Last week I paid a visit to Grove House Stables to meet James & Ozzie for an Equestrian Lifestyle Photoshoot. James regularly visits Grove House Stables several times a week to ride and has formed a very close bond with one of their ponies Ozzie, who he rides regularly in his lessons.

Grove House Stables is a recognised BHS, Pony Club and Accessibility Centre.  It’s a place where children and adults are welcomed to develop and reach their riding goals with the support of the incredible staff and fantastic facilities available.

James & Ozzie are a perfect example of this with a unique friendship that has been formed over the last three years, since James began riding. James is only 9 but spends most of his time at the stables learning to ride and look after the ponies there.

Ozzie is a black 12-year-old Bransby Horses Rescue Pony. He’s a cheeky chappy and very quick when in the school so requires a confident rider, but he is very much loved by all the children and the tutors at Grove House Stables. James was so relaxed and cool riding Ozzie, you can see he is going to be a very strong rider, he’s also recently started jumping lessons on Ozzie so expect to see more of this duo in the future!

Firstly, we captured some photos of James in his Riding lesson, before we then went on to do his Equestrian Lifestyle Shoot on the yard. We used a field, the track back on to the yard and a stable doorway for their shoot which just goes to show you don’t need a fancy location to capture stunning images.  Safety is always very important, with young riders especially, and due to a Horses unpredictable behaviour, we chose to keep James in his riding hat and gear. But as you can see from these photos, we captured their unique bond and they make such a great team.

I used to have riding lessons when I was younger and I don’t have any photos of the ponies I grew up learning to ride on. It gives me great pleasure to be able to offer these gorgeous photoshoots for the kids to have with their favourite ponies at Grove House Stables. These are core memories that will be looked back on for generations to come. I wish I’d had the opportunity for a photoshoot with my favourite pony when I was young.

During these Lifestyle photoshoots, I capture the all important riding shots as it’s great for your kids to see how they look riding their favourite Pony. Then we get on the ground to have some photos where you can clearly see the connection between the Pony and your child.
